My heroes!

I guess this is just the way my blog is going to look!
I just finished this book and loved it. I really believe in the idea that if you educate people, life will get better for them and for us.
This man, Dr. Greg as the Pakistani people call him, is one of my heroes. He is the most selfless person I have known, atleast through a book. The sacrifices he has made and the personal risks he was involved in to educate girls in Pakistan is amazing.
My other hero includes Captain Moroni from the BofM. What a brilliant man! That is one that I want to meet up there.
A few that make the list: George Washington, Dieter F Uchtdorf (he gives the best talks I have ever heard, how he fell in love with his wife endears me to him forever), Marjorie Pay Hinckley, and Jane Austen.

To many activities!

I love watching my kids play sports or do fun thing. Before I knew that I was going to find Murray girls softball league, I put Hannah in some ice skating lessons. She loved it and has just finished her last class of the session. She wants to do more, but with piano and softball, one more things was to much. I told her maybe in the fall because we want to spend out time swimming this summer.
Having her do three things, and all of my other kids activities has kept us a little to busy. It is just ball, karate, and piano now.

Prom 2010

I really can't figure out how to fix the pics on my blog. I used to be able to get them all in order and in some kind of a row. This is so crazy. Oh well, I will wait for Whit to come and see if she can help me tomorrow.
I will begin by saying that prom is so different here in Utah. It is only a Junior thing and the boy asks the girl in some outlandish way. This year Kelsie got a fish bowl with two cute fish ( one of which has left this world already) and a paper that read "Out of all the fish in the sea, will you go to the prom with me". Her answer was supposed to be just as ingenious. She filled another bowl full of Swedish Fish and had a little note on one of them in the middle that read "Out of all the fishes in the sea, I am glad that you picked me". Interesting little tradition. Kels was very pleased to be asked by her good friend K.C. Decker who lives down the street.
She found her dress shopping with her cousins and Aunt. They emailed me pics and she brought it home about two months before prom. We were hoping that someone would be asking, or else she was going with a friend to use the dress and go to her Junior prom. K.C.'s mom had come over and looked at the dress and I am glad that his little sister informed us that her mom had told him to ask Kelsie to prom, because her dress was so beautiful. Big thanks to Yuriko.

At the last dance Kels was to afraid to do the pinning of the rose, but this time she was determined to do it herself. K.C. gave her some great pointers.

Maren wanted in a pic with Kelsie and we thought Hannah looked a little left out so she got a photo with K.C.

Science Fair

We started earlier this year, but still ended up burning the midnight oil.
Jonas' project this year was "Can a car run without batteries".
Yes!

Hannah's project was "Can I walk on water".
Yes, but it is difficult.
The little girls had lots of fun in the locker room.

Post of pictures

Easter

So something is really up with my camera. Kelsie
has been using it, and she is taking very large
pictures. I am trying this out to see if I can even get one up. I have banned her and hopefully can get the settings fixed.

More Info on Maren's Broken Leg

Everyone keeps asking what happened, so I will tell the story. Our good friends the Hoffers, son Chris is getting married. They are having a reception in the backyard. They are completely landscaping the entire yard and since their youngest will be a senior next year, they offered their trampoline to us (Erika sais she needs it back as soon as the reception is over, but I don't think that is what her mother had in mind). It is one of those great big ones. We got it last Sat. night and Josh, Hannah, and Kimmie Decker put it together and got to jump for a few minutes before dark. The next day was Sunday and we ofcourse went to church and as soon as we got home the kids changed and immediately wanted to go out and jump. I said that it was Sunday and we should not be outside jumping on the tramp, but soon relented to the constant begging. Ten minutes later, in came Hannah carrying Maren with a hurt knee. She cried for the entire day. Monday arrived with a somewhat restful night and her leg was still bothering her. I had to be down at IMC with my mom for some tests, Maren meanwhile had not walked since the accident. Tuesday arrived and I had preschool at my house and Gabe (he kept Maren entertained for a few hours) came over for a few hours. Maren cried to be carried everywhere the kids went and I knew it was time to take her in. Another clue , when I would push on her knee, the bone would make this little snapping sound. I called the pediatricia, who was out on vacation (which I was glad for, because she is always lecturing me for having trampolines and for the fact that my kids don't wear helmets when they ride their bikes. One of the other doctors in the office took the call and told me to take her down to Primary Childrens Hospital, that he would order a xray for her. I immediately saw the fracture in the picture, so I figured we would be coming back as soon as the doctor had a look. He called me later that night with an appointment at the orthopedic place at Primarys. So for the third day in a row, we were at the hopital (can I say how sad it is to be down at Primary Children's Hospital, bald children, code blues, and all sorts of offices I hope to never enter). Maren immediately picked pink for her cast and we were in and out of there in about half an hour. We hope not to see the hospital for four weeks! The pics are below in the previous post.

Broken Legs vs. Easter Dresses

I need one good photographer to get a picture of all of my kids looking great.

Just after church, Maren took off the dress and got on the trampoline with Hannah.
Not a good idea.

There are some big rules now. Big!
