Is there something on my head?

So now that Kelsie has been gone, I have been relying on Hannah and Jonas to help out with Esme while I am getting things done. This was one morning when I had asked Jonas to play with Esme so she wouldn't cry. This is the game he decided upon. We call it "Stack the Blocks"!
It reminds me of something that Andrew would probably do.

Swimming Lessons!

For the past two weeks the kids have been going to swimming lessons. It has helped so much with Hannah a Jonas to do this every year. Can you believe they are both diving now!! Maren has never had a problem with water, we just want her to swim rather than drown.
Maren and our good friend Kailee!
Nice backstroke Jonas!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Papa! We wish that we could have celebrated with you in Texas. We did share in the same meal, steak! The things I love about my dad: He was able to quit smoking, he could actually breath when he came out to visit a few months ago. Way to go! I love how he teases and plays with my kids. Alli and Bridgette always teased that I was his favorite, but he loves all of us. I did get some special treatment growing up!! I loved the time that he spent teaching me how to drive. I love how he still wants to take care of everyone. I love how he takes such good care of my mom.
Happy Father's Day, Josh! What can I say, Josh loves to play with our kids. I think the thing that I love the most about him is that he works so hard. He has a very stressful job, but he does it to support our family. I have always been able to stay home with our kids thanks to him. I really appreciate that, and some day our kids will.
Josh and Maren out at the Wedge! He carries our kids anywhere we go. I love having a husband who not only shares in the fun but the dirty work too.

The latest happenings!

This is what our family looks like while trying to read scriptures every night. I think Josh and Kelsie are about the only ones who get something out of it in their lonely chairs.
Maren got her foot stuck in the trunk of the elephant game.
Hannah and Jonas both received the 'Soaring Eagle Award' given to students who overachieve. (For example: in Kindergarten you need to be able to button your coat and tie your shoes.)

Popsicles!

This was Esme trying to play games at the table with us. They really wore her out!

Popsicles on the front walk with cloud! She thinks anytime someone is lounging about she must be a part of the action.
I lost track of how many popsicles they had.

Cook Out!

One of our favorite things to do in the summertime is to cook outside at the fire pit! Josh drives the neighbors crazy with the smoke but we do it about every other week.
Getting ready to cook!
Don't ask me what was going on here! I think Andrew was trying to throw Hannah over the fence!
I wonder if she is on the other side. I must have been inside during all of this.

More fun from the pit!

We love cooking out!
Essie was mesmerized by the fire!

Andrew had a melted marshmallow nearby and Leah got her hands on it. She spent a few minutes eating before anyone noticed she even had it.

Field Day!

The kids had a lot of fun at their school's field day. This is Hannah playing beach ball soccer. Banner and Maren played on the playground for a while, and we all got sunburned except for Banner and Jonas. Lucky dark skinned kids!
At the very end an old antique fire truck was brought in and hosed down the kids.
Hannah stayed out on the very edge and didn't even get wet, but Jonas was completely hosed down!

Fun outside!

Flower Child!
These cute pictures were taken by Sara and Banner and have been on their blogs, but I wanted my mom and dad to see them.
I can't believe Banner got Maren to hold a snail, you can see the worry on her face.
No problem here!

Carrie!

Just a quick message to Carrie Keele. I can't comment on your blog for some reason. It said that I need to be invited. The playground is a new one that the elementary just put in. The kids love it.

Swimming Party!

Hannah had a swimming party with friends at Dimple Dell. It was so nice and easy.
It was a major thing to get Maren into the pool. After a swim diaper, plastic pants, and her swimming suit, she was finally allowed in. It makes you wonder what they make the kids do who aren't potty trained. Jonas, blue eyes!
The kids swam for almost two hours, then came in and had pizza and cake!
Hannah got lots of great gifts from her friends!
